Blastness, a leading group in providing technology for hotel booking services, has won the "Best Performance Award 2024/25" in the "Best Performing Small Company" category. This prestigious award, promoted by SDA Bocconi, recognizes Italian companies that excel in generating economic, technological, social, and environmental value.
Blastness secured the award among five finalist companies in the Small Company category. The selection process involved thorough research by the award’s organizing committee, starting from a panel of over 950,000 Italian companies. These were initially screened based on financial and economic criteria—including growth, profitability, and financial sustainability—narrowing the selection to 1,500 companies. From there, only 98 companies proceeded to interviews and focus groups, where they were evaluated on over 400 data points. Ultimately, 20 finalist companies were chosen for five awards, categorized by business size and assigned by the Awarding Committee.
Additionally, Blastness was named among the 10 finalists for the "Best Performer of the Year" award, making it the only Small Company to achieve this distinction.
Blastness stood out among Italy’s most outstanding companies not only for its strong economic results but also for its innovative approach and commitment to ESG principles. These strengths—demonstrating the company’s ability to generate widespread value—were key factors in securing the Best Performing Small Company award.
Now in its 8th edition, the Best Performance Award is organized in partnership with PwC Italia, Banca Mediolanum, Fondazione Umberto Veronesi, Elite, and Jefferson Wells, with the collaboration of Havas PR and Radio Deejay. It recognizes Italian companies with revenues between €15 million and €5 billion, evaluated based on criteria such as EBITDA margin, revenue growth, and Capex/Total Assets ratio, which must exceed the industry average.
During the awards ceremony, five winners were announced: three based on company size (Large, Medium, and Small Company), one for the "Best Performer of the Year" (regardless of size), and a special award for the company excelling in this year’s hot topic: family business.
"Over the past year, we have received many important recognitions, but winning this award is a source of immense pride for us," said Andrea Delfini, founder and CEO of Blastness. "Although we are a tech company—with 50% of employees and managers being women, and more than 50% under the age of 30—we are committed to environmental initiatives. However, I believe our social and governance policies were not only appreciated by the prestigious jury but are also the true driving force behind our company and success. Our core values are Opportunity (offering both horizontal and vertical growth paths), Incentives and Meritocracy (including salary-based incentives, benefits, and team-building initiatives), and Sharing (profit-sharing across all departments). As Professor Dall’Occhio highlighted, the combination of Growth and Respect has been instrumental in our success. These values have helped Blastness establish itself as a market leader, building a strong reputation for the dedication and passion our entire team brings to our clients. Today, we serve over 1,800 hotel properties and have been the leading provider of electronic distribution systems for 5-star hotels in Italy for over 14 years. By anticipating major industry opportunities driven by digital market evolution, we have continued investing in technological innovation and advanced services, with the ambition of becoming one of the world’s leading companies in this field."
